Title:
Ārvalstu tiešo investīciju nozīme Baltijas valstu ekonomiskajā izaugsmē 1999.-2008. gadā
Summary / Abstract:

ENBaltic States are always compared with each other, because Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – three neighbour countries - have similar history and geographical features however, have different levels of economic development. It is supposed that the main reason that makes difference between Baltic States is foreign direct investments. All kinds of investments play a great role in the development of any country, as economic development, development of business and enterprises, and growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) are influenced. The investments at the moment may offer faster recovery from the world crisis which began at the end of 2008 and affected almost every country. That is why the aim of this article is to investigate the importance of foreign direct investment in the economical development of Baltic States in 1999-2008. The research about the estimation of foreign direct investment influence on the actual GDP was made applying monofactorial regression analysis. As a result a theoretical connection between foreign direct investment and GDP was made.
