ENThe article deals with the Postmodern conception that the end of the signifier-signified dialectic, that permitted the accumulation of knowledge and meaning, results in the era of simulation: all the great humanist criteria of value vanish. During the further investigation some indirect connections and analogies between the Postmodern thought and various trends of ancient Hellenic philosophy are revealed.
