ENThe events of the first nationalistic actions of protest which happened in Latvia and Lithuania in summer of 1987 are considered in the article. On the basis of comparative analysis of the soviet all-union and republican press and American daily “New York Times” the general and excellent methods of events reflection, features of “glasnost'” in the Baltic States are selected.
