Cicerono kalbų dialogai : disertacija

LTDisertacijoje siekiama aprėpti visas dialogo rūšis visose išlikusiose Cicerono kalbose, pateikti bendrą tipologinę dialogų klasifikaciją ir parodyti, kokias funkcijas dialogas atlieka Cicerono kalbose. Platesne prasme siekiama pasekti dialogo tradiciją Antikos literatūroje, apžvelgiant dialogą kituose prozos žanruose iki Cicerono ir tuo pačiu atskleidžiant šio autoriaus kalbų savitumą. Disertacijoje atlikti tyrimai leidžia daryti tokias išvadas apie dialogo vietą bei funkcionavimą retorikos kūrinyje, konkrečiai Cicerono kalbose: 1. Oratoriaus kalba iš prigimties yra linkusi į dialogiškumą. 2. Tose kalbose, kur vyrauja ekstravertiškojo dialogo formos, ryškesnis retorikos elementas, tose, kuriose gausu intravertiškųjų dialogų, ryškesnis grožinės prozos elementas. 3. Įvairūs kalbų dialogai tarnauja svarbiausiam tikslui – įtikinimui. 4. Cicerono kalbų dialogai yra efektyvi charakterizavimo priemonė. 5. Dialogai yra organiškai neatskiriamas Cicerono kalbų elementas. Ir pavieniai dialogai, ir jų deriniai taip darniai įsipina į tekstą, kad neretai sunku nustatyti jų ribas. 6. Cicerono dialoguose meistriškai panaudojama ironija, suteikianti pokalbiui ypatingą dialogiškumo krūvį ir papildomas reikšmės konotacijas. 7. Nors priimta manyti, kad Cicerono traktatams labiau būdingas aristoteliškojo tipo dialogas, išnagrinėtoji medžiaga atskleidžia, kad Ciceronas geba kurti ir platoniškojo tipo dialogus. 8. Kitaip negu graikų retorikoje, Cicerono teismo kalbos dialogiškesnės už tarimosi kalbas. 9. Cicerono dialogai labiau inkorporuoti į tekstą negu Demosteno ir Aischino kalbose.

ENIn this dissertation the intention was to make a general typological classification of all the dialogues in the known records of Cicero’s speeches and thereby to show what function dialogues fulfil in Cicero’s speeches. The broader intention was to examine the tradition of dialogues in the literature of Antiquity, looking at dialogue in other prose genres before Cicero and pinpointing the linguistic particularities of this author. The research done for this dissertation allows the following conclusions to be made about the place and function of dialog in a rhetorical composition, particularly in those of Cicero’ speeches: 1. The innate nature of oratorical speech inclines it toward dialog. 2. In speeches where the extravert type of dialogue prevails, the rhetorical element is clearer; while in those where the introvert type of dialogue prevails, the element of belletristic prose is clearer. 3. The various types of dialogues in speeches serve the most important goal: persuasion. 4. The dialogs of Cicero’s speeches are an effective means of characterisation. 5. The dialogs are an organically inseparable element of Cicero’ speeches. Single dialogues and combinations of them are so skilfully interwoven into the rest of the text that it is often difficult to determine their boundaries. 6. Irony is used masterfully in Cicero’ speeches, which gives them a special debating flavour and additional connotations of meanings. 7. Although the accepted wisdom has been that Cicero’s treatises are characterised by Aristotelian dialogue, the research material studied reveals that Cicero was also quite capable of creating Platonic dialogues. 8. Unlike in Greek rhetoric, Cicero’s speeches at trials make more use of dialogue than do the speeches that pronounce judgement. 9. Cicero’s dialogues are more interwoven with the text than those of Demosthenes or Aeschinus.
