Lietuvos muziejų rinkiniuose daugiausia sukaupta XIX a. pab.-XXa. I p. įvairiausių galvos dangalų ir puošmenų.
ENThe LNMA Pranas Gudynas Centre for Restoration is undertaking the restoration of women's head coverings - one of the most complex topics for researchers, their restoration requiring particular sensitivity. Scarves, bonnets, caps and other types of head coverings are one of the most interesting restoration objects on account of the variety of their size and materials, execution and decoration techniques. Women and young ladies in Lithuania had always worn various types of scaves. The Pranas Gudynas Centre for Restoration has completed the detailed restoration of a tatted scarf from the village of Pabalvė, a white cotton embroidered scarf from Viekšniai, and a viscose fabric scarf from the village of Šakėnai. The LNMA textile restoration workshop has also restored two caps produced using the so-called crocheting "on a fork" method and one percale cap, while another seven cotton crochet caps and linen lace caps with a fabric stiffened part arrived for restoration from the Marijampolė Local History Museum. Caps and scarves are only a small part of the range of women's head coverings, and are undoubtedly worthy of greater attention from researchers.
