Rūmai provincijos muziejui: neišsenkantys lobynai ir išskirtinės asmenybės

LTŽemaičių muziejus „Alka“ Telšiuose yra vienintelis, turintis specialiai jam pastatytus rūmus. Tai yra Prano Genio nuopelnas. Jam vadovaujant sukauptos ir unikalios rinkinių kolekcijos, kurios pristatomos leidžiamuose kataloguose. Nors Prano Genio palikimas ir indėlis Alkos muziejaus istorijoje yra milžiniškas, tačiau medžiagos apie savitų ir unikalių jo asmenybę nėra daug - keletas sųsiuvinių su jo ankstyvųjų kūryba, eilėraščių knygelės ir keturi laiškai. Dokumentų bylose - muziejaus statybos dokumentai, susirašinėjimai, sąskaitos, surašai. Fotografijose įamžinta muziejaus kūrimo pradžia, muziejaus pastato statyba, jo paties visuomeninė veikla, pirmųjų ekspedicijų į kaimus momentai. ENThe Samogitian Museum Alka is the only museum of Lithuania established in the palace built specifically for the provincial museum. This is the merit of Pranas Genys. Under his direction, unique collections were accumulated and are presented in published catalogues. The collection of ethnic culture contains pieces of furniture made by rural masters, various tools and household objects, monuments of fine arts and small-scale architecture, and wooden God figures. The iconographic collection focuses on the legacy of manors and the 19th-20th century photos. The print collection includes some rare exhibits, whereas the medal collection displays badges of a beggar, an elder, and a board member as well as a medallion of a sobriety society. The fund of the painter and photographer Józef Perkowski stores over 2,650 of the artist s works, photos, and glass plate negatives. Although the personal fund of Pranas Genys is relatively modest, his contribution to the history of the museum remains invaluable.
