ENThe ensemble of Paliesius manor homestead reached us from them beginning of the 19th century and has reached our days with fundamental change, losing most of the features of the artistic and cultural space. Before the start of the works, in the summer of 2008, the protected objects looked quite unattractive with collapsed roofs, ceilings, vaults, broken wall fragments, cracks in the walls. The former palace / gentleman’s house, ice cream parlor, workers’ house and other structures seemed to be irretrievably lost. Preparatory works took place in 2008-2009 - measurements, historical, architectural, archeological research, the condition of walls, ceilings and roof structures were investigated, losses were estimated. In the severely dilapidated manor of Paliesius, the main choice has been to preserve and exhibit the remaining authentic parts of the building, to replace the missing adaptation elements with new technologies that comply with international restoration and conservation principles. The composition of the facades of the former Supervisor’s house has not changed. The facades are made of large broken field stones, the seams are clogged with dark broken stones, and masonry is neat and very decorative. The masonry was restored by injecting cracks and restoring the loss. The former barn reached our times without a roof, ceilings, carpentry, with deformed walls. It was decided not to restore the former volume of the “horseshoe”. Architectural solutions were determined by the very poor condition of the masonry, it would be risky to support additional loads on it, therefore the qualitatively restored surviving outdoor stone walls, brick edging, and plaster fragments are stored under a modem wooden glass structure, conditions for preserving and exhibiting valuable buildings. Perfect acoustics allows organizing concerts and other cultural events. Conceptually, it is like today’s laying theater, which is visited by performers, musicians, where the community is brought together by cultural events. The semicircular shape is perfect for the stage. The manor has also become important for the social well-being of the community - local people are employed here. The joint work of architects, researchers, executors was evaluated and the object was awarded the Best Restoration Works in 2013-2014 with the diploma of the winner of the competition “For the implementation of new methodological solutions in management works, complexity and innovation of restoration”. The work of the restoration and adaptation of Paliesius manor in 2015 nominated for a diploma in “Archiforma” magazine.
