Summary / Abstract:

ENOn the basis of correspondence from the Polish Library in Paris, the political history of the GDL 1737–1764 is investigated. The author managed to establish the place and role of Mikhail Masalsky in the social and political life of the GDL in the 30–60s of the 18th century, and also the distribution of roles among the lead ers of the Familia (political party). It allowed to clarify the position of the leaders of the Familia in certain polit ical incidents. This allows to understand the common and different in the position of the Mikhail Masalsky grouping regarding the other leaders of the Familia and better understand the causes of his conflict with them in 1761–1762.
